About the Author(s)
Pamela J. Shoemaker is the John Ben Snow Professor at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Her books include News Around the World, How to Build Social Science Theories, Mediating the Message, and Gatekeeping. She is co-editor of the journal Communication Research. She is former president of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
Stephen D. Reese is Jesse H. Jones Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the School of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. He is co-author, with Pamela J. Shoemaker, of Mediating the Message and co-editor, with Oscar Gandy and August Grant, of Framing Public Life.
